Framework for Visual Analytics of Learning Outcomes Data to Support Institutional and Program Improvement​

Lead researcher(s): Jill Scott, Brian Frank and Natalie Simper, Queen's University​

This study will conduct a longitudinal assessment of general learning outcomes such as critical thinking, problem solving and communication. The research will use five instruments to measure specific aspects of the learning outcomes and cognitive skills. Qualitative and quantitative data analysis will be used to provide instructors with feedback on their students’ demonstration of the learning outcomes. 

This study is part of HEQCO’s Learning Outcomes Assessment Consortium composed of postsecondary institutions in the province. Their goal is to pilot assessment tools and techniques that are scalable at the institutional level.​
