HEQCO Fellows Program
Created through the Higher Education Quality Council of Ontario Act, 2005, the Higher Education Quality Council of Ontario (HEQCO) is an arm’s-length agency of the Government of Ontario that brings evidence-based research to the continued improvement of the postsecondary education system in Ontario.
In support of this mandate, the HEQCO Fellows Program augments the agency’s scope and expertise by providing the opportunity for HEQCO staff to engage with scholars and researchers in the field of higher education.
HEQCO Fellows are senior, mid-career or emerging researchers or scholars interested in conducting research or policy analysis that is relevant to postsecondary access, quality and accountability. Appointed by the Board of Directors for a defined term, HEQCO Fellows receive no remuneration but may utilize HEQCO as a home base for their research activities and collaborate with HEQCO’s research staff.
“Given the considerable expertise in postsecondary research and policy analysis in Ontario and across the nation, the HEQCO Fellows program allows us to create new partnerships with scholars at different career stages”, says HEQCO’s president and CEO Harvey Weingarten. “The program strengthens our research capability while bringing new perspectives to the improvement of higher education in Ontario.”
